This unit

The MTL5018 is a two-channel resistance isolator that interfaces switches and proximity detectors located in hazardous areas with safe-area control circuits. Each channel delivers independent relay outputs with user-selectable phase reversal to signal alarm conditions. Line fault detection (LFD) identifies open or short circuits in field wiring. The unIt has 250V RMS/DC isolation between input, output, and power terminals and conforms to intrinsic safety standards for Zone 0 and Division 1 hazardous locations.

Key Features

Two changeover relay outputs for safe-area load control

Independent phase reversal selection per channel for alarm signaling

Selectable line fault detection with required external resistors (500Ω–1kΩ series; 20kΩ–25kΩ parallel)

NAMUR/DIN 19234 input compatibility for proximity detectors

Green power indicator and yellow channel status LEDs

Typical Applications

Control of safe-area loads from Zone 0 (IIC, T6) switches in intrinsically safe systems

Proximity detector interface for Group A hazardous locations (Div. 1)

Field wiring fault detection in distributed safety networks

Compatibility & Integration The MTL5018 belongs to the MTL5000 series and supports intrinsically safe sensors in Zone 0 and Division 1 environments. Plug-in connectors enable rapid integration into DIN-rail control panels.
