This unit

The Agilent/Keysight 1662CS is a benchtop logic analyzer that combines state and timing analysis with an integrated 2-channel oscilloscope for debugging and validation of digital systems. Engineers can perform simultaneous logic and analog measurements, capture state transitions and timing violations, and correlate captured data with processor mnemonics and C++ source code for accelerated fault isolation.

Technical Specifications

Logic Analysis:

  • 68 state and timing channels

  • State analysis speed: 100 MHz with 2 state clocks/qualifiers

  • Timing analysis speed: 500 MHz

  • Memory depth: 4k states per channel; 8k states in half-channel mode

  • Trigger sequencing: 12 levels (state), 10 levels (timing) Integrated Oscilloscope:

  • 2 channels

  • Sampling rate: 1 GSa/s

  • Bandwidth: 250 MHz

  • Vertical resolution: 8 bits

  • Triggering: Logic analyzer-controlled

  • Memory: 8000 samples per channel Storage & Connectivity:

  • Internal 540 MB hard disk drive and 3.5-inch floppy disk drive

  • Ethernet LAN for remote PC/workstation access

  • HP-IB, RS-232-C, and Centronics printer interfaces Probing:

  • Lightweight miniprobes with high-impedance options

  • Over 200 probe solutions for diverse signal connections

  • Interposers available for minimal loading during signal integrity and protocol measurements

Key Features

  • Processor-specific mnemonics and inverse assembler support for annotated state listings

  • Source line referencing via HP B3740A software analyzer - correlates captured state data directly with C++ source code

  • Analog parametric measurements alongside digital capture

  • Gray-scale graphical display interface

  • Portable benchtop form factor

Typical Applications Digital system debugging, microprocessor validation, timing analysis, protocol verification, and hardware-software integration testing.

Compatibility & Integration Works with inverse assemblers for processor-specific analysis. Supports HP B3740A analyzer software for source code correlation. LAN connectivity enables data sharing and remote diagnostics from networked engineering workstations.
