This unit

The VITREK 944i is a multi-functional dielectric analyzer that combines AC Hipot, DC Hipot, insulation resistance, and earth continuity testing in a single compact instrument. Purpose-built for manufacturing test, product safety engineering, component evaluation, and R&D environments, the 944i delivers four critical electrical safety measurements from one connection point. Its automated, menu-driven interface and compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and TUV standards make it suitable for applications requiring simultaneous verification of dielectric strength and insulation integrity.

Technical Specifications

Dielectric Strength Testing

  • AC Hipot: up to 5 kV AC standard, 35 mA sourcing capability, 50 Hz to 100 Hz output frequency with 1 Hz resolution, digitally synthesized low-distortion sine wave

  • DC Hipot: up to 5 kV DC standard (optional upgrades to 7 kV DC and 10 kV DC), user-selectable slew rate from 10 V/s to 1999 V/s

  • Current Limits: 35 mA (20 mA below 500 V); leakage current measurement to 1 nA; real, apparent, and total current sensing modes; arc detection selectable 3 to 30 microseconds with 10 ms shutdown

  • Voltage Accuracy: ±70.7 VAC / ±53.0 VDC at 5 kV; tolerance equals square root of output voltage (e.g., ±10.0 VAC at 100 VAC) Insulation Resistance (IR) Testing

  • Measurement range: 1 MΩ to 10 TΩ with expanded ranges to 500 GΩ or 65 GΩ

  • Test current: down to 10 nA at 5 kV DC Earth Continuity Testing
