The HP/Agilent 16700B Logic Analysis System is a modular platform for debugging and validation of complex digital systems. This five-slot measurement module chassis supports deep memory capture and high-speed timing analysis across a broad range of microprocessors and bus protocols. The system expands to ten total module slots with an optional 16701B Expansion Frame, enabling scalable test configurations.


An 18 GB hard disk and built-in 40x CD-ROM provide onboard storage, while 128 MB standard RAM (upgradeable to 256 MB) supports data processing. The 16700B connects to external 1280×1024 VGA monitors; the integrated 16702B variant includes a 12.1″ 800×600 LCD touch panel. Network connectivity via 10/100 BaseT LAN and dual target control ports with TTL-compatible logic levels enable real-time system interaction.


Port In accepts TTL, ECL, or user-defined levels across a –6 V to +6 V input range; Port Out delivers 3 V TTL-compatible signals into 50 Ω loads. Both latched and pulsed output modes are supported, with pulse widths from 66 ns to 143 ns. The instrument operates from 115 V or 230 V (48–66 Hz), consuming 610 W maximum.


System software version A.02.70.00 or higher is recommended. BenchLink XL post-processing integrates captured trace data directly into Microsoft Excel for analysis.
