This unit
The Anritsu 68369B is a microprocessor-based synthesized sweep/signal generator covering 0.01 GHz to 40 GHz, engineered for RF system development, validation, and laboratory characterization. It delivers discrete CW frequencies and analog or phase-locked step sweeps with high output accuracy and low spurious signals across demanding frequency ranges.
Technical Specifications
Frequency Coverage: 0.01 GHz to 40 GHz with 1 kHz resolution (0.1 Hz with Option 11). Output Power:- 0.01–2.0 GHz: +13.0 dBm
- 2.0–20.0 GHz: +9.0 dBm
- 20.0–40.0 GHz: +6.0 dBm
- Maximum: +17 dBm; Minimum: –125 dBm Phase Noise: Ultra-low SSB phase noise of –100 dBc at 10 kHz offset from 10 GHz. Time Base Stability:
- Internal: <2 × 10⁻⁸/day aging; <2 × 10⁻⁸/°C over 0–55 °C (enhanced to <5 × 10⁻¹⁰/day and <2 × 10⁻¹⁰/°C with Option 16).
- External 10 MHz reference input: 0 to +10 dBm.
- 10 MHz reference output: 0.5 Vp-p into 50 Ω, AC coupled. CW Mode: Twenty presettable frequencies (F0–F9, M0–M9) with <40 ms switching time to within 1 kHz. Analog Sweep Mode: Sweep width from 1 MHz to full range; sweep time 30 ms to 99 seconds; frequency accuracy the lesser of 30 MHz or (2 MHz + 0.25% of sweep width) at speeds ≤50 MHz/ms. Phase-Locked Step Sweep Mode: Up to 10,000 steps; step size 1 kHz to full range (0.1 Hz with Option 11); dwell time 1 ms to 99 seconds; switching time <15 ms + 1 ms/GHz or <40 ms, whichever is less. Alternate and Manual Sweep Modes: Alternate sweeps between two ranges with independent power levels; manual mode provides stepped, phase-locked frequency adjustment. Modulation: Internal AM, FM, phase, and pulse modulation; user-downloaded complex modulation.

Anritsu 68369B — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Anritsu 68369B. Calibration covers output frequency accuracy, output power level accuracy across the full frequency range, AM/FM/PM/pulse modulation accuracy, harmonic and spurious output levels, and phase noise floor verification. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Anritsu 68369B faults: YIG oscillator failure (no output or loss of lock), step attenuator wear (output drops or steps at set attenuation), ALC loop failure (uncontrolled output power), I/Q modulator assembly failure. HP/Agilent 836xx series most common faults are YIG oscillator failure and step attenuator contact wear causing output steps or drops at specific attenuation settings. Keysight E4428C/E4438C units most commonly develop ALC loop failure and I/Q modulator assembly faults. YIG oscillator replacement and attenuator service are stocked repairs.
