This unit
The Anritsu MG37022A is a microwave signal generator spanning 10 MHz to 20 GHz, engineered for frequency-agile RF and microwave test applications. It delivers output power to +23 dBm at 20 GHz with exceptional phase noise of –86 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. Fast frequency switching reaches 55 µsec for 100 MHz steps, with trigger response under 30 µs.
The instrument supports AM, FM, pulse, and phase modulation, including pulse widths as narrow as 10 ns (unleveled) and 100 ns (leveled). Internal time base stability tracks better than 2 × 10⁻⁸/day with temperature coefficients of 2 × 10⁻⁸/°C over 0 °C to 50 °C. Multi-protocol connectivity
USB 2.0, Ethernet, IEEE-488 GPIB, and RS-232 - combined with phase-locking capability for up to four synthesizers, positions the MG37022A for antenna characterization, satellite payload validation, RFIC/MMIC testing, and defense radar and EW receiver applications.

Anritsu MG37022A — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Anritsu MG37022A. Calibration covers output frequency accuracy, output power level accuracy across the full frequency range, AM/FM/PM/pulse modulation accuracy, harmonic and spurious output levels, and phase noise floor verification. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Anritsu MG37022A faults: YIG oscillator failure (no output or loss of lock), step attenuator wear (output drops or steps at set attenuation), ALC loop failure (uncontrolled output power), I/Q modulator assembly failure. HP/Agilent 836xx series most common faults are YIG oscillator failure and step attenuator contact wear causing output steps or drops at specific attenuation settings. Keysight E4428C/E4438C units most commonly develop ALC loop failure and I/Q modulator assembly faults. YIG oscillator replacement and attenuator service are stocked repairs.
