This unit

The Abaco Systems / SBS PMC-HS-Serial is a single-wide PMC module delivering quad-channel high-speed serial communication in space-constrained environments. Each channel is fully programmable to support synchronous protocols up to 10 Mb/s (with external clock) and asynchronous protocols to 2 Mb/s. The module handles asynchronous, synchronous, monosync, bisync, HDLC, SDLC, LAPB, LAPD, ISDN, and PPP traffic without requiring hardware reconfiguration.

Physical interfaces

RS-232, RS-422, EIA-449, EIA-530, and V.35 - are software-configurable, enabling rapid deployment across diverse network architectures.

Technical Specifications

  • Form Factor: Single-wide PMC

  • Channels: 4 independent serial channels

  • Data Rates: Synchronous up to 10 Mb/s (external clock); asynchronous up to 2 Mb/s

  • Protocols: Asynchronous, synchronous, monosync, bisync, HDLC, SDLC, LAPB, LAPD, ISDN, PPP

  • PCI Bus: 3.3 V or 5.0 V signaling; 33 MHz or 66 MHz operation

Abaco Systems / SBS PMC-HS-Serial — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Abaco Systems / SBS PMC-HS-Serial. Calibration covers analog input channel accuracy and offset at all gain settings, analog output accuracy, digital I/O logic threshold verification, sample rate and timing accuracy, and trigger and synchronization bus functional verification. NI CompactRIO and PXI chassis also undergo backplane trigger line integrity check.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Pass/fail cert + NIST sticker
Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common Abaco Systems / SBS PMC-HS-Serial faults: power supply failure (cRIO-9073/9074), C-series slot connector wear, PXI chassis fan failure, GPIB interface failure on VXI controllers, BIOS/EEPROM corruption. NI CompactRIO most common faults are power supply failure on older cRIO-9073/9074 chassis and C-series module slot connector wear from repeated hot-swap cycles. PXI chassis fan failure is the most common wear item — chassis fans are field-replaceable. VXI embedded controllers most commonly develop EEPROM corruption and GPIB interface failure.
