This unit

The Agilent/Keysight 3577B is a dual-channel network analyzer (expandable to three channels) operating from 5 Hz to 200 MHz, engineered for R&D and manufacturing characterization of electronic networks and components. It delivers magnitude and phase measurements with 0.02 dB dynamic accuracy and 0.2° phase accuracy, alongside specialized capabilities including insertion loss, group delay, SWR, electrical length, gain compression, and attenuation analysis. The instrument features a synthesized local oscillator and tracking generator with 0.001 Hz frequency resolution and source amplitude range from +15 dBm to -49 dBm. Multiple sweep modes - linear frequency, log frequency (segmented linear approximation), alternate frequency, CW, discrete (2–51 frequencies), and log amplitude - accommodate diverse measurement scenarios. Sweep times range from 100 ms/span to 6553 s/span for frequency sweeps and 1 ms/step to 16 s/step for amplitude sweeps. The receiver achieves 100 dB+ dynamic range and -130 dBm noise floor with selectable 50Ω or 1 MΩ input impedance. Built-in three-term error correction and vector normalization enable high-fidelity two-port characterization. Display modes include magnitude, phase, polar, real, imaginary, and group delay with integrated Smith chart and polar graticule rendering. Return loss, reflection coefficient, and impedance measurements are available with the 35676A/B accessory kit. The instrument interfaces via HP-IB, programmable TTL I/O, and direct HP-GL plotter control, making it suitable for both automated production test and hands-on circuit development.
