The Schneider Electric ACX-5740 is a networked access control and automation controller engineered for industrial security and integrated building management. This unit directly replaces the ACX 780/781 series while adding native Ethernet IP capabilities alongside Infinet field bus support. It integrates 12 universal inputs, 12 supervised alarm inputs, 8 card reader/keypad inputs, and 4 Form C relay outputs in a single platform.


Technical Specifications

Processor and memory architecture centers on a powerful CPU paired with 128 MB DDR SDRAM and 32 MB Flash storage. The system allocates 12 MB RAM for application and runtime data, 48 MB RAM for personnel records, and 8 MB RAM for the operating system. Storage capacity extends to 480,000 personnel records. A battery-backed real-time clock maintains time accuracy, while an internal NiMH battery (3.6 VDC, 800 mAh) provides minimum 7-day backup for DDR SDRAM and clock function. Network connectivity features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN interface with hardware-accelerated IPsec/IKE encryption for secure communications. The controller supports one software-configurable RS-485 programmable port compatible with Infinet, wireless adapters, RoamIO2, or third-party systems.
