This unit
The Kepco ATE55-5M is a precision analog-controlled half-rack DC power supply delivering 0–55V at 0–5A (250W) with automatic voltage and current stabilization. Independent front-panel potentiometers provide full-range output control, while dual analog meters continuously display voltage and current. A linear NPN pass transistor section driven by high-gain IC amplifiers ensures stable, low-noise operation. Selectable slow and fast modes accommodate constant-voltage applications and rapid transient response respectively. The slow mode achieves <0.1mV RMS ripple and <1mV peak-to-peak noise.
Technical Specifications
Output: 0–55V DC, 0–5A DC
Power Output: 250W
Ripple & Noise (Slow Mode): <0.1mV RMS, <1mV peak-to-peak
Programming Bandwidth: 4.0 kHz (voltage mode, 55V); 10 µsec time constant (current mode, 5A)
Output Impedance: 110 kΩ (current mode); 10 µH (voltage mode)
Input: Factory-configured for 95–113V, 105–125V, 190–226V, or 210–250V AC (47–65 Hz)
Operating Modes: User-selectable slow (constant voltage) or fast (transient response)
Key Features
10-turn potentiometers for precise front-panel voltage and current adjustment
Fully programmable via rear connector with 0–10V analog signal input
Programmable overvoltage protector (OVP) with manual and remote setpoints
LED indicators for operating mode status
Remote sensing terminals for error compensation
Mode crossover flag signal available at rear connector
High-gain amplifiers with zeroable offsets
Typical Applications Precision analog control environments requiring ultra-low noise output and stable regulation across variable loads. Fast-mode operation supports applications demanding rapid voltage settling or current-limiting behavior with changing load impedance.
Compatibility & Integration Rear programming connector accepts analog control signals and provides remote monitoring outputs. Remote sensing and output capacitor terminals enable low-impedance distribution and local energy storage at load points.
