Corning Vascade EX2500 Bare Optical Fiber
Vascade EX2500 is Corning's very large effective area submarine fiber, designed for high-capacity long-haul and subsea routes where nonlinear impairments are the system-limiting factor. Effective area is in the 130-150 µm² range, among the largest in commercial single-mode fiber.

The very large effective area is achieved through a carefully controlled pure silica core design that trades a slightly larger mode field diameter for dramatically reduced four-wave mixing and cross-phase modulation noise.
