This unit

The DDC BU-67125 Compact Avionics Interface Computer (C-AIC) delivers customizable, deployable avionics connectivity in a rugged enclosure. Built on Intel's embedded computing architecture paired with DDC's avionics data networking expertise, it handles multi-protocol integration across military and commercial aerospace platforms, UAVs, and ground vehicles. The system operates in three distinct modes: remote access for lab-based control via Ethernet, bridging and protocol conversion for data concentration across multiple bus types, or standalone embedded operation for direct mission applications.

Technical Specifications

Processor: Intel Atom E3845 Processor Module

Memory: 4 GB DDR3

Storage: SSD, 120 GB to 1 TB

Expansion: Two Mini-PCIe slots, one I/O Expansion Module slot

Operating Systems: Windows 10, IntervalZero ETS

Key Features

Multi-protocol support: MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 717, CANbus 2.0 / ARINC 825

Dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for networking and bridging

Serial interfaces: RS-232/422/485

16 programmable digital I/O (GPIO)

DVI video and HD audio outputs

Environmental qualification to DO-160 functional shock (Section 7.2.1), crash safety (Section 7.3.3), and MIL-STD-810G vibration Category R

Rugged enclosure qualified for air and ground deployment

Modes of Operation Remote Access Mode enables Ethernet-based control and embedded simulation from external test systems, eliminating long onboard cabling. Bridging & Protocol Conversion Mode leverages DDC's SDK to autonomously forward data between MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and Ethernet as a data concentrator. Standalone/Embedded Solutions Mode runs mission applications directly on the C-AIC with direct sensor and terminal interfacing.

Typical Applications Military and commercial aerospace, unmanned aerial vehicles, and ground vehicle integration requiring avionics data bus protocol conversion and multi-source data consolidation.

DDC BU-67125 — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the DDC BU-67125. Calibration covers analog input channel accuracy and offset at all gain settings, analog output accuracy, digital I/O logic threshold verification, sample rate and timing accuracy, and trigger and synchronization bus functional verification. NI CompactRIO and PXI chassis also undergo backplane trigger line integrity check.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Standard Cal
$450
Pass/fail cert + NIST sticker
Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common DDC BU-67125 faults: power supply failure (cRIO-9073/9074), C-series slot connector wear, PXI chassis fan failure, GPIB interface failure on VXI controllers, BIOS/EEPROM corruption. NI CompactRIO most common faults are power supply failure on older cRIO-9073/9074 chassis and C-series module slot connector wear from repeated hot-swap cycles. PXI chassis fan failure is the most common wear item — chassis fans are field-replaceable. VXI embedded controllers most commonly develop EEPROM corruption and GPIB interface failure.
