The Fujikura FSM-15S is an arc fusion splicer for precision joining of single-mode and multimode optical fibers in field and laboratory environments. It delivers consistent low splice loss through precision V-groove alignment, with typical values of 0.045 dB for SM fiber and 0.02 dB for GI fiber. The splicer accepts 250 and 900 micron coated fibers and requires 8 to 16 mm cleaved length per fiber. A built-in 3-inch LCD monitor with 100X magnification CCD viewing enables real-time dual-axis (X and Y) observation during splicing. Microprocessor-driven image processing performs automated splicing and loss estimation across all supported fiber types.
