This unit

The Danaher Motion / Superior Electric SLO-SYN MX2000 is a 32-bit DSP controller built for motion control in industrial automation systems. It simultaneously manages up to 8 step motor or servo axes with 7 concurrent tasks, delivering fully coordinated motion including linear and circular interpolation. The controller integrates a Texas Instruments TMS320C31 32-bit DSP operating at 33 MHz with 256 Kbytes of memory, interfacing with all SLO-SYN step motor drives up to 50,000 micro-steps per revolution and any analog or digital servo amplifier.

Technical Specifications

Processor: Texas Instruments TMS320C31 32-bit DSP, 33 MHz

Memory: 256 Kbytes

Simultaneous Axes: Up to 8 step motor or servo axes

Concurrent Tasks: 7 maximum

Micro-stepping: Compatible to 50,000 micro-steps per revolution

Analog Output: ±10 VDC

Digital I/O (Standard): 24 optically isolated and filtered inputs; 16 short-circuit proof outputs (switch-selectable sinking or sourcing)

Serial Ports: Two ports with switch-selectable RS232/RS485 (host port) and factory-set RS232/jumper-configurable RS485 (auxiliary port)

Baud Rates: Host port 4800, 9600, 19.2K, or 38.4K bps (switch-selectable); auxiliary port 9600 bps factory-set, software adjustable to 38.4 Kbaud

Key Features

Full coordinated motion control with linear and circular interpolation and splining

Windows-based BASIC-like programming language with nested subroutines (16 levels) and looping

Complete math function library

Flash memory for program storage

Comprehensive system parameter setup screens

Optionally expand I/O with dedicated digital input/output boards or OPTO-22 style boards via two 50-pin headers (up to 48 additional I/O points)

Typical Applications

Multi-axis industrial machine control systems

Coordinated step motor and servo drive automation

Complex motion sequencing requiring concurrent task execution

Compatibility & Integration The MX2000 interfaces with all SLO-SYN step motor drives and analog/digital servo amplifiers. Dual serial ports support RS232 and RS485 communication protocols at configurable baud rates, enabling integration into networked automation environments.
