The Tektronix PA1000 is a single-phase single-channel power analyzer built for accurate power consumption testing to international standards. It covers everything from standby power measurements at 5mW through full harmonic analysis to the 50th order, all in a compact bench unit with a color graphical display and a menu-driven interface that does not require an expert to operate. One shunt covers low current, one covers high. The instrument selects automatically based on the measured current level, which keeps accuracy consistent across the range without manual range changes between measurements. The 1MS/s continuous sampling rate at 1MHz bandwidth captures real switching transients in power supplies, inverters, and motor drives that narrower-bandwidth analyzers miss. For LED driver testing, wireless charger characterization, and UPS efficiency measurement, that bandwidth matters when the switching frequency pushes into the hundreds of kilohertz. Harmonic analysis to the 50th order is standard, no option required. The PA1000 runs IEC 61000-3-2 pre-compliance harmonic testing and IEC 62301 standby power full-compliance testing out of the box. The free PWRVIEW software generates formatted compliance test reports automatically for both standards, logs real-time data to CSV or Excel, and supports pass/fail limit testing against user-defined parameters. All four communication interfaces are standard on every PA1000: USB, LAN, GPIB, and RS-232. PWRVIEW can control multiple PA1000 units simultaneously over any of those interfaces for efficiency testing setups that require input and output power measured at the same time. This unit was tested at our Downingtown, PA facility before listing. Voltage and current measurement were verified across the range, harmonic analysis was confirmed operational, and all communication interfaces were checked.
