Installation is performed via a serial-number-specific keyword, with verification through the instrument's options list and availability of the Transform menu item on the Trace menu.

Each upgrade kit is keyed to the specific model number and serial number of the target instrument and cannot be transferred between units. The network analyzer must be in proper working condition prior to option installation.
