This unit

The JDS Uniphase 4126LM is a dual-wavelength OTDR module engineered for comprehensive optical network testing and troubleshooting across FTTx, enterprise, and metro architectures. This laser diode module integrates OTDR measurement capability with a continuous wave light source and power meter functionality, enabling installation, turn-up, and maintenance operations on point-to-point and passive optical networks (PONs). The module delivers 32 dB dynamic range at 1310 nm and 30 dB at 1550 nm, with event and attenuation dead zones of 1 m and 4 m respectively. It accommodates configurable pulse widths from 3 ns to 10 µs and captures up to 256,000 acquisition points. Traffic detection triggers automatically upon connection to live fiber. Interchangeable FC, SC, DIN, LC, and ST connectors enable flexible field deployment across standard and APC-terminated installations.

JDS Uniphase 4126LM — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the JDS Uniphase 4126LM. Calibration covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common JDS Uniphase 4126LM faults: optical port connector damage or contamination, battery failure, display damage from field use, module failure on FTB or MTS platforms, calibration drift. Most field OTDRs fail due to physical damage. On modular platforms (EXFO FTB, Viavi MTS), individual module failures are serviced without replacing the entire mainframe. Optical port cleaning resolves many apparent measurement faults before mechanical repair is needed.

JDS Uniphase 4126LM price

This JDS Uniphase 4126LM is listed at $1,450. Calibration is available separately from $450. Contact us for volume pricing or if you need multiple units.

JDS Uniphase 4126LM calibration cost

NIST-traceable calibration for the JDS Uniphase 4126LM is $450 (standard — pass/fail certificate and calibration sticker) or $650 (full measured data at every test point, reference standards documented, traceability chain included). Calibration for this instrument covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. Turnaround is 1 to 3 business days after receipt. See full calibration details →
