This unit

The Agilent/Keysight 85514A is a 4-in-1 OSLT mechanical calibration kit engineered to deliver precise calibration standards for non-insertable devices across DC to 9 GHz. This kit combines Open, Short, Load, and Through standards in a compact form factor, enabling accurate vector network analyzer and spectrum analyzer calibration in laboratory, manufacturing, and field service environments.

Technical Specifications

  • Frequency Range: DC to 9 GHz

  • Connector Type: Type-N male, 50 Ω

  • Calibration Standards: Open, Short, Load, Through

  • Dimensions: 99 × 65 × 22 mm

  • Operating Temperature: +5 °C to +40 °C

  • Storage Temperature: -40 °C to +70 °C

Electrical Performance Open Phase Error

  • 0 to 4 GHz: ≤ 2.0°

  • 4 to 9 GHz: ≤ 3.0° Short Phase Error

  • 0 to 9 GHz: ≤ 1.25° Load Return Loss

  • 0 to 6 GHz: ≥ 42 dB

  • 6 to 9 GHz: ≥ 35 dB

  • DC Resistance: 50 Ω ± 0.5 Ω

  • Maximum Power: 0.5 W Through Standard (male-male)

  • Insertion Loss: ≤ 0.05 dB (DC to 4 GHz), ≤ 0.1 dB (4 to 9 GHz)

  • Electrical Delay: 241.167 ps

  • Offset Delay (Open): 53.882 ps

Key Features

  • Compact, lightweight design minimizes handling stress and integration complexity

  • Type-N male connectors ensure broad compatibility with standard RF/microwave instrumentation

  • Tight phase and insertion-loss specifications enable high-accuracy measurements

  • Load return loss exceeding 42 dB below 6 GHz provides clean termination

Typical Applications Calibration of non-insertable test devices including cables, filters, and assemblies with male-male connectors. Suitable for network analyzer verification, gain and phase measurement validation, and insertion-loss characterization in manufacturing and R&D environments.

Compatibility & Integration Designed for use with Type-N equipped network and spectrum analyzers operating within the DC to 9 GHz frequency range. Recommended inspection interval: 1 year. Connectors accept finger-tightening; torque wrench use (12 lb-inch / 136 N-cm) is optional. Store with protective caps installed in shock-resistant environment to maintain measurement integrity.
