This unit
The Burkert 8626 Mass Flow Controller (MFC) for Gases is an integrated system designed for precise control of gas mass flow, irrespective of pressure or temperature fluctuations. It incorporates a thermal flow sensor operating on the constant-temperature anemometer principle, a control electronics unit, and a direct-acting proportional valve (Type 2875) for regulation. This design allows for direct mass flow measurement without requiring corrections, offering excellent dynamics and reduced sensitivity to contamination due to the sensor being in the main flow channel. The MFC can be optionally calibrated for two different gases, enabling user switching between them.
Technical Specifications Flow Control:
- Nominal Flow Ranges (Qnom): 20 to 1500 lN/min (Nitrogen equivalent). Higher flows may be available on request.
- Turn-down Ratio: 1:50. (Note: With vertical installation and flow downwards, the turn-down ratio is 1:10.)
- Accuracy: ±1.5% of reading (o.R.) ±0.3% of full scale (F.S.) after 15 minutes warm-up time.
- Linearity: ±0.25% F.S.
- Repeatability: ±0.1% F.S.
- Settling Time: < 500 ms (t95%). (Described as "short settling times" in other sources). Operating Medium:
- Medium: Neutral, non-contaminated gases. Other gases available on request.
- Calibration Medium: Operating gas or air with correction factors.
- Medium Temperature: -10 to +70 °C. (-10 to +60 °C with oxygen). Pressure:
