This unit

The Curtiss-Wright / Systran SCRAMNet A-H-PR-BCPCI PCI Module is a shared-memory interface for real-time distributed computing, simulations, data acquisition, and industrial control systems. Built on PCI Local Bus Specification Rev. 2.1, it enables ultra-low-latency, deterministic data synchronization across up to 256 networked nodes using replicated shared-memory architecture. The module eliminates traditional networking protocol overhead, allowing simultaneous access to shared data across all nodes with sub-microsecond system latency.

Technical Specifications

Bus Interface: PCI Local Bus Specification, Rev. 2.1, single-slot configuration

Shared Memory: 4 KB or 128 KB on-board; upgradeable via SIMM/expansion cards to 512 KB, 1 MB, 2 MB, 4 MB, or 8 MB

Data Throughput: 16.7 MB/sec

Node Latency: 250 ns/node base; 250 ns to 800 ns (4-byte packet), 250 ns to 1.5 µs (16-byte packet), 250 ns to 4.2 µs (64-byte packet), 250 ns to 16 µs (256-byte packet), 250 ns to 61.8 µs (1 KB packet)

Maximum Nodes: 256

Power Supply: +5 VDC, 3 A

Operating Temperature: 0°C to 40°C

Operating Humidity: 10% to 90% non-condensing

Key Features

Replicated shared-memory architecture minimizes collisions and protocol overhead

Flexible transmission media: coax (SMA connectors, 30 m max separation) or fiber optic (standard 62.5 µm multimode, ST connectors, 300 m max separation; 1300 nm extended-range option to 3500 m)

Versatile media interface card supporting both coax and fiber-optic configurations

Two external trigger outputs (26.64 ns pulse width, TTL-compatible): host-access triggered and network-write triggered

Form factors: standard PCI, PMC (2.913" × 5.866"), SBus (3.299" × 5.760"), rehostable configurations

Typical Applications Real-time simulation and testing, high-speed data distribution in distributed control networks, low-latency telemetry systems, deterministic industrial automation.

Compatibility & Integration Compatible with standard PCI-based computer systems. Single-slot installation. Supports both short-distance coax and long-distance fiber-optic node interconnection.

Curtiss-Wright / Systran A-H-PR-BCPCI — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Curtiss-Wright / Systran A-H-PR-BCPCI. Calibration covers analog input channel accuracy and offset at all gain settings, analog output accuracy, digital I/O logic threshold verification, sample rate and timing accuracy, and trigger and synchronization bus functional verification. NI CompactRIO and PXI chassis also undergo backplane trigger line integrity check.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Standard Cal
$450
Pass/fail cert + NIST sticker
Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common Curtiss-Wright / Systran A-H-PR-BCPCI faults: power supply failure (cRIO-9073/9074), C-series slot connector wear, PXI chassis fan failure, GPIB interface failure on VXI controllers, BIOS/EEPROM corruption. NI CompactRIO most common faults are power supply failure on older cRIO-9073/9074 chassis and C-series module slot connector wear from repeated hot-swap cycles. PXI chassis fan failure is the most common wear item — chassis fans are field-replaceable. VXI embedded controllers most commonly develop EEPROM corruption and GPIB interface failure.
