This unit
The EXFO AXS-110 is a handheld Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) engineered for fault location and fiber characterization across singlemode and multimode networks. Operating at 850 nm, 1300 nm, 1310 nm, and 1550 nm, it delivers dynamic ranges from 24 dB to 32 dB depending on wavelength and fiber type. The instrument achieves an exceptional 0.8 m event dead zone, enabling precise detection of closely spaced events in dense cabling environments - critical for inside-plant, data center, enterprise, campus, and access network deployments.

Exfo AXS-110 — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Exfo AXS-110. Calibration covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Exfo AXS-110 faults: optical port connector damage or contamination, battery failure, display damage from field use, module failure on FTB or MTS platforms, calibration drift. Most field OTDRs fail due to physical damage. On modular platforms (EXFO FTB, Viavi MTS), individual module failures are serviced without replacing the entire mainframe. Optical port cleaning resolves many apparent measurement faults before mechanical repair is needed.
Exfo AXS-110 price

Exfo AXS-110 calibration cost
NIST-traceable calibration for the Exfo AXS-110 is $450 (standard — pass/fail certificate and calibration sticker) or $650 (full measured data at every test point, reference standards documented, traceability chain included). Calibration for this instrument covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. Turnaround is 1 to 3 business days after receipt. See full calibration details →
