Built around a GeX high-power germanium detector with 2 mm aperture, it delivers traceable NIST-calibrated readings from -50 dBm to +21 dBm with ±0.05 dB resolution and ±5% uncertainty. The instrument performs direct loss measurement in dB, transmitter power assessment in dBm and watts, and component insertion-loss characterization. A 2 kHz signal detection capability enables fiber identification in the field. Electrical offset nulling ensures reliable operation across extreme temperature ranges. Single 9V alkaline battery powers the meter for over 14 hours per charge, with auto-off functionality to extend runtime. Compact, shockproof holster design and user-friendly interface support rapid deployment by field technicians and network engineers during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting operations.
