The EXFO FOT-932X is a multifunction loss tester that integrates insertion loss, return loss, and optical power measurement into a single portable platform. Purpose-built for FTTx and broadband network deployments, it delivers the field-ready performance required for fiber optic network verification. The instrument combines precision measurement capability with an intuitive user interface and field-hardened construction, enabling technicians to characterize fiber integrity across modern communication infrastructure deployments.

Technical Specifications

Insertion loss measurement spans up to 70 dB with ±0.1 dB accuracy and 0.01 dB resolution. Measurements are expressed in dB, %, absolute power (mW, dBm), and conform to EN 50377-1, IEC 61300-3-34, and TIA-568-C.3. Return loss measurement employs reflectometry with up to 60 dB range, ±1 dB accuracy, and 0.1 dB resolution. The integrated optical power meter uses an InGaAs detector calibrated across 850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, and 1625 nm. Power measurement range extends from -60 dBm to +10 dBm with ±5% (±0.2 dB) accuracy and 0.01 dBm resolution. Tone detection capability covers standard frequencies including 270 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz. Operating temperature range is -10°C to +50°C; storage extends from -40°C to +70°C. Humidity tolerance is 0% to 95% non-condensing. The unit features a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack with AC adapter mains operation and USB connectivity for data transfer and software updates. Internal memory or removable media (USB, SmartCard) provides data storage.
