The Horiba / PTI LPS-220B is a regulated DC lamp power supply engineered for scientific and analytical instrumentation. It delivers stable, adjustable power to mercury, xenon, mercury/xenon, and tungsten-halogen compact arc lamps rated 75–150 W, with automatic voltage regulation and precision current control. The supply generates approximately 100 V across output terminals before ignition and requires an external lamp igniter for arc lamp operation. Manual and automatic ignition modes are selectable via front-panel controls; the IGNITE button applies 100 V to the igniter to generate a 30 kV pulse to the lamp. A digital meter displays lamp volts, watts, or amps via selector switch. Input voltage is user-selectable between 115 V and 220 V with corresponding fuse ratings (slow blow: 4 A at 115 V, 2 A at 220 V; fast blow: 10 A internal). Current regulation stabilizes lamp output after a five-minute xenon warm-up period. The unit features air cooling with internal fan ventilation through a rear-panel heat sink and color-coordinated connectors for lamp housing connections.
