The Abaco Systems/VMIC VMIVME-4140-001 is a 6U VMEbus analog output board delivering 32 channels of 12-bit resolution signal generation for industrial automation, data acquisition, and automatic test equipment. Each channel features a dedicated 12-bit DAC capable of sourcing or sinking 10 mA, with software-selectable output ranges spanning unipolar (0 to +10V, 0 to +5V, 0 to +2.5V) and bipolar (±2.5V, ±5V, ±10V) configurations. The board employs double-buffered random update architecture with synchronous control via software or external trigger, eliminating the need for scanning operations.

Automatic calibration executes on system reset or software command, storing offset and gain coefficients in RAM with a single reference potentiometer - no manual tuning required. Onboard diagnostics include self-test capability initiated by VMEbus reset or software, with results logged in the Self-Test Register indicating success, failure, or specific channel faults. Field wiring disconnection enables offline testing without removing the board from the crate.
