This unit
The Acromag/Xembedded/Xycom XVME-682 is a dual-card, 6U VMEbus module pairing a CPU board with a dedicated I/O module. This architecture enables direct inter-board communication via local bus when installed adjacently, bypassing VMEbus for reduced latency. The system ships in 1 MB or 4 MB RAM configurations and routes PC/AT and PC/XT signals either through a local connector (adjacent slots) or the VMEbus P2 backplane (non-adjacent slots).
The I/O module interfaces graphics control via PC/XT bus and disk management through full PC/AT bus signaling accessible at the P2 connector. Both VMEbus P1 and P2 backplanes are mandatory for power delivery and normal operation.
Technical Specifications
