Rockwell / Allen-Bradley 6008-SV1R VMEbus I/O Scanner

The Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley 6008-SV1R is a VMEbus I/O Scanner that enables direct communication between a VMEbus backplane and Allen-Bradley remote I/O modules without requiring a dedicated PLC processor. The module manages one remote I/O channel supporting up to 16 racks of remote I/O, with configurable scan rates at 57.6 kbps, 115.2 kbps, or 230.4 kbps. Multiple scanners can be deployed within a single VME system to build large, flexible I/O subsystems.

The 6008-SV1R occupies one 6U VME slot and functions as a memory-mapped slave on the VMEbus, responding to 8-bit or 16-bit accesses in A16 or A24 address spaces. It also operates as a VME interrupter on any of the seven VMEbus interrupt lines.
