This unit
The JDS Uniphase ANT-5 is a handheld network testing instrument for field technicians performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications networks. It delivers comprehensive analysis across SDH, SONET, PDH, and ATM digital links with integrated BERT, traffic generation, and optical power measurement capabilities. The compact, rugged design and extended battery life enable sustained on-site operation across remote and urban deployment environments.
Technical Specifications
Supported Interfaces and Rates SDH/SONET: STM-1/OC-3, STM-4/OC-12, STM-16/OC-48. Concatenated mappings include VC-4-4C/OC-12C and VC-4-16C/OC-48C. AU-3/VC11/SONET VT mappings supported. PDH: DS1 (1.544 Mbps), E1 (2.048 Mbps), DS3 (44.736 Mbps), E3 (34.368 Mbps), E4 (139.264 Mbps), and Nx64 kbps configurations. ATM: Operation up to STM-4c rates over DS1, E1, E3, DS3, E4, VC-4/OC-12, VC-4c/OC-12c, and STS-1 SPE. Optical: Dual wavelengths at 1310 nm and 1550 nm for STM-1/OC-3, STM-4/OC-12, and STM-16/OC-48 rates.
Electrical Interfaces G.703 transmitters provide BNC 75 Ω unbalanced outputs at 2048 kbps and 34,368 kbps (HDB3), 44,736 kbps (B3ZS), and 139,264 kbps plus 155,520 kbps (CMI). RJ48 120 Ω balanced output available at 2048 kbps (HDB3). G.703 receivers accept BNC 75 Ω unbalanced inputs. T1 Bantam interface and STM-0e/1e support included.

JDS Uniphase ANT-5 — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the JDS Uniphase ANT-5. Calibration covers optical reference power levels, electrical signal amplitude calibration, protocol layer verification, and BER measurement floor validation. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common JDS Uniphase ANT-5 faults: SFP cage mechanical damage, optical port contamination, firmware corruption. Most failures involve SFP/SFP+ cage mechanical damage, optical port contamination, or firmware corruption. Port cleaning and firmware restoration resolve the majority of faults.
JDS Uniphase ANT-5 price
This JDS Uniphase ANT-5 is listed at $3,200. Calibration is available separately from $450. Contact us for volume pricing or if you need multiple units.
JDS Uniphase ANT-5 calibration cost
NIST-traceable calibration for the JDS Uniphase ANT-5 is $450 (standard — pass/fail certificate and calibration sticker) or $650 (full measured data at every test point, reference standards documented, traceability chain included). Calibration for this instrument covers optical reference power levels, electrical signal amplitude calibration, protocol layer verification, and BER measurement floor validation.
