This unit

The Abaco Systems / Ramix CP237 is a 6U CompactPCI (cPCI) PMC carrier that expands embedded systems by hosting two Peripheral Component Interconnect Mezzanine Card (PMC) slots. It bridges PMC modules to the cPCI backplane, routing rear I/O signals through J3 and J4 connectors to support modular, distributed architectures. The carrier accommodates both 32-bit and 64-bit PMC operation at 33 MHz or 66 MHz bus speeds, with 66 MHz operation available through selective component de-population.

Hot-insertion capability enables system maintenance without downtime - essential for high-availability deployments. An optional Enhanced IDE/ATA interface supports boot or data storage via rotating or flash disk. Optional 10/100Base-TX Ethernet and RS232 serial ports extend connectivity options.

Technical Specifications

  • Form Factor: 6U Eurocard, PICMG 2.0 R3.0 compliant

  • PMC Slots: 2 (IEEE 1386.1 compliant)

  • PMC Interface: 64-bit, 32-bit compatible

  • Bus Speed: 33 MHz, 66 MHz

  • Rear I/O Routing: PMC signals route to cPCI connectors J3, J4

  • Optional Storage: Enhanced IDE/ATA interface

  • Optional Interfaces: 10/100Base-TX Ethernet, RS232 serial

  • Hot Insertion: Supported

Abaco Systems / Ramix CP237 — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Abaco Systems / Ramix CP237. Calibration covers analog input channel accuracy and offset at all gain settings, analog output accuracy, digital I/O logic threshold verification, sample rate and timing accuracy, and trigger and synchronization bus functional verification. NI CompactRIO and PXI chassis also undergo backplane trigger line integrity check.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Common Abaco Systems / Ramix CP237 faults: power supply failure (cRIO-9073/9074), C-series slot connector wear, PXI chassis fan failure, GPIB interface failure on VXI controllers, BIOS/EEPROM corruption. NI CompactRIO most common faults are power supply failure on older cRIO-9073/9074 chassis and C-series module slot connector wear from repeated hot-swap cycles. PXI chassis fan failure is the most common wear item — chassis fans are field-replaceable. VXI embedded controllers most commonly develop EEPROM corruption and GPIB interface failure.
