The EXFO EPM-502 is a handheld optical power meter engineered for precise measurements across the 800 nm to 1650 nm wavelength range. Built with a germanium detector and calibrated at six industry-standard wavelengths (850 nm, 1300 nm, 1310 nm, 1490 nm, 1550 nm, 1625 nm), it delivers power uncertainty of ±0.06 dB for levels ≥ -40 dBm and ±5% ± 0.1 nW for levels > -50 dBm. The meter supports automatic wavelength recognition, configurable pass/fail thresholds with LED indicators, and tone detection at 270 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz for network fault isolation.
