This unit

The Anritsu MW9076C is a mini-OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) engineered for field installation, maintenance, and fault location in single-mode optical fiber networks. Delivering dynamic range up to 45 dB typical with a Fresnel dead zone of 1.6 m and back-scattered dead zone of 8 m, the unIt has 5 cm resolution across 50,000 sampling points. Measurement cycle times span from 10 seconds in Full-Auto mode to 0.15 seconds in Real-time Sweep, enabling rapid network diagnostics and commissioning workflows.

Anritsu MW9076C — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Anritsu MW9076C. Calibration covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Full NIST cert with measured values

Common Anritsu MW9076C faults: optical port connector damage or contamination, battery failure, display damage from field use, module failure on FTB or MTS platforms, calibration drift. Most field OTDRs fail due to physical damage. On modular platforms (EXFO FTB, Viavi MTS), individual module failures are serviced without replacing the entire mainframe. Optical port cleaning resolves many apparent measurement faults before mechanical repair is needed.
