Agilent/Keysight U5532C

The Agilent/Keysight U5532C is a USB power sensor module that integrates directly with the Keysight N5531X Measuring Receiver system to deliver RF power measurements up to 50 GHz. By eliminating the need for external power meters, the U5532C simplifies lab setups and reduces bench space requirements. The module features on-board calibration files that automatically retrieve correction factors, enabling plug-and-play operation with minimal operator intervention.

Technical Specifications

The U5532C is offered in four frequency-specific options:

• Option U5532C-504: 100 kHz to 4.2 GHz (Type-N input connector, male)


• Option U5532C-518: 10 MHz to 18 GHz (Type-N input connector, male)


• Option U5532C-526: 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz (3.5 mm input connector, male)


• Option U5532C-550: 30 MHz to 50 GHz (2.4 mm input connector, male) Absolute RF power measurements span −10 dBm to +30 dBm in wideband mode. Absolute tuned RF level (TRFL) measurements extend to −140 dBm. Operating power levels are −20 dBm to +30 dBm (10 μW to 1 W). Measurement uncertainty reaches 0.0096 dB typical for absolute power measurement, delivering metrology-grade accuracy.

Key Features Calibration factors unique to each sensor module are stored internally and accessed automatically during RF power measurements to correct for non-linear sensor response. For modules with serial number prefix MY/SG6013 or higher, calibration files load on-board without external intervention. When exact frequency entries are unavailable, the measuring receiver applies linear interpolation between nearest calibration points. Calibration data may also be loaded from external sources, accommodating custom calibration datasets. Input connectors include Type-N (12 in-lb torque), 3.5 mm APC (8 in-lb), and 2.4 mm (8 in-lb) options, each matched to the appropriate frequency range.

Compatibility & Integration The U5532C interfaces exclusively with the N5531X Measuring Receiver system. The N5531X can be configured around an N9030B PXA Signal Analyzer running the N9091EM0E Measuring Receiver application. The module's integrated power splitter architecture consolidates measurement functionality without requiring standalone instrumentation.
