The Abaco Systems / VMIC VMIVME-2511-200 is a 48-bit digital parallel input/output board engineered for VMEbus systems. It delivers flexible, programmable digital I/O capabilities through individually configurable 8-bit ports that support unidirectional, bidirectional, and bit-level direction control. The board integrates VMEbus compatibility logic, interrupt control via Motorola MC68153 BIM, and parallel interface/timer functionality using Motorola MC68230 PI/T modules to manage port and timer interrupts.
Data transfers occur across 8-, 16-, and 32-bit widths via front-accessible P3 and P4 connectors. An optional high current driver variant restricts ports to unidirectional operation. Housed in a double Eurocard form factor, this board integrates into standard VMEbus backplanes and maintains software compatibility with the VMIVME-2120.
