The Astronics / EADS / Racal 1255A is a modular VXIbus switching controller designed to reduce ATE cost and complexity by consolidating switch management into a single chassis. It accommodates up to four C-sized 1260 Series switch modules and eliminates the need for separate VXIbus mainframes and controllers. The system integrates IEEE-488 (GPIB) and RS-232 interfaces with internal VXI local bus control, enabling direct integration into existing test environments. Non-volatile memory stores relay configurations, while relay monitoring provides confidence verification. Scan mode enables synchronous testing across multiple points.
