This unit

The Aeroflex 3020 is a compact 3U PXI modular RF signal generator engineered for R&D, manufacturing, and design verification across communication system test environments. It integrates a dual-channel arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) and operates in conjunction with an external RF synthesizer module to deliver precise frequency control and output power management. The 3020 series supports analog, digital, and vector modulation across a broad frequency spectrum, making it suitable for complex RF test requirements demanding fast frequency switching and low phase noise.

Common Aeroflex 3020 faults: YIG oscillator failure (no output or loss of lock), step attenuator wear (output drops or steps at set attenuation), ALC loop failure (uncontrolled output power), I/Q modulator assembly failure. HP/Agilent 836xx series most common faults are YIG oscillator failure and step attenuator contact wear causing output steps or drops at specific attenuation settings. Keysight E4428C/E4438C units most commonly develop ALC loop failure and I/Q modulator assembly faults. YIG oscillator replacement and attenuator service are stocked repairs.
