This unit
The DynamicSignals/Kinetic Systems 3992-Z1A is a three-wide CAMAC Serial Highway Driver module that enables bidirectional serial communication over the CAMAC Serial Highway interface. It transmits command messages and receives Reply and Demand messages, with dual parity checking (transverse and longitudinal) on all incoming traffic. The module interfaces directly to the CAMAC Dataway through six dedicated registers, supporting network architectures from 1 to 62 crates. Clock control is flexible - select from an internal crystal oscillator, variable-frequency oscillator, or external source, all operating up to 5 MHz. The 12-bit LAM and LAM Mask registers provide selective interrupt handling with full masking and clearing control. Reply message timing ranges from coincidental with serial command space-bytes to 186 bytes post-completion. Status flags indicate transmission completion and reply receipt. Conforms fully to IEEE-583 and IEEE-595 CAMAC specifications.
