This unit
The JDS Uniphase 4136LM is a Last Mile OTDR module engineered for fiber optic network testing and characterization within the JDSU T-BERD/MTS-4000 platform. Designed for SMF 9/125 µm fiber, it delivers fault location, quick-link testing, and construction-mode trace analysis with fully automatic operation. The module supports in-service testing on PON deployments using ITU-T L41 maintenance wavelengths (1625 nm or 1650 nm), enabling measurements without disrupting active optical traffic.

JDS Uniphase 4136LM — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the JDS Uniphase 4136LM. Calibration covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common JDS Uniphase 4136LM faults: optical port connector damage or contamination, battery failure, display damage from field use, module failure on FTB or MTS platforms, calibration drift. Most field OTDRs fail due to physical damage. On modular platforms (EXFO FTB, Viavi MTS), individual module failures are serviced without replacing the entire mainframe. Optical port cleaning resolves many apparent measurement faults before mechanical repair is needed.
JDS Uniphase 4136LM price
This JDS Uniphase 4136LM is listed at $1,650. Calibration is available separately from $450. Contact us for volume pricing or if you need multiple units.
JDS Uniphase 4136LM calibration cost
NIST-traceable calibration for the JDS Uniphase 4136LM is $450 (standard — pass/fail certificate and calibration sticker) or $650 (full measured data at every test point, reference standards documented, traceability chain included). Calibration for this instrument covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. Turnaround is 1 to 3 business days after receipt. See full calibration details →
