This unit
The Anritsu 68069B is a synthesized continuous-wave (CW) signal source covering 0.01 GHz to 40.0 GHz with microprocessor-based frequency control and high-resolution phase-lock capability. It delivers output power from –125 dBm to +13 dBm (extending to +17 dBm across select frequency bands) with 0.01 dB resolution and 2 dB output accuracy. Ultra-low SSB phase noise of –100 dBc at 10 kHz offset from 10 GHz enables precision local oscillator and test applications.
The instrument generates discrete CW frequencies with 1 kHz minimum step size, optionally 0.1 Hz with Option 11, and supports broad and narrow band sweep modes with up to 10,000 steps, variable dwell times from 1 ms to 99 seconds, and step switching under 15 ms + 1 ms/GHz or 40 ms maximum. Spurious signals remain typically –40 dBc for harmonics and non-harmonics. Internal modulation includes AM, FM, phase modulation, and pulse modulation for radar testing; user-downloadable complex modulation and frequency agility up to 1000 non-sequential frequencies under GPIB control are supported.
All functions are accessible via front panel or IEEE-488 GPIB remote control. Harmonic output and alternate sweep modes provide flexible signal generation for R&D, ATE, and frequency conversion applications.

Anritsu 68069B — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Anritsu 68069B. Calibration covers output frequency accuracy, output power level accuracy across the full frequency range, AM/FM/PM/pulse modulation accuracy, harmonic and spurious output levels, and phase noise floor verification. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Anritsu 68069B faults: YIG oscillator failure (no output or loss of lock), step attenuator wear (output drops or steps at set attenuation), ALC loop failure (uncontrolled output power), I/Q modulator assembly failure. HP/Agilent 836xx series most common faults are YIG oscillator failure and step attenuator contact wear causing output steps or drops at specific attenuation settings. Keysight E4428C/E4438C units most commonly develop ALC loop failure and I/Q modulator assembly faults. YIG oscillator replacement and attenuator service are stocked repairs.
