This unit

The Yokogawa AQ1215F is a portable optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of single-mode fiber networks. Operating at 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and 1650 nm, it delivers multi-wavelength capability across access and enterprise deployments. The instrument combines OTDR trace analysis with optical power measurement (OPM) functionality, event detection, and automated pass/fail judgment to characterize fiber core performance and locate faults rapidly.

A built-in reporting engine generates PDF documentation with configurable templates, while USB Type-C and LAN/WLAN connectivity enable field operation and remote control.

Yokogawa AQ1215F — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Yokogawa AQ1215F. Calibration covers distance accuracy verified against a calibrated fiber length reference, event loss measurement accuracy at splice and connector events, dead zone (event and attenuation) at rated pulse width, dynamic range verification at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, backscatter coefficient calibration, and return loss measurement accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common Yokogawa AQ1215F faults: optical port connector damage or contamination, battery failure, display damage from field use, module failure on FTB or MTS platforms, calibration drift. Most field OTDRs fail due to physical damage. On modular platforms (EXFO FTB, Viavi MTS), individual module failures are serviced without replacing the entire mainframe. Optical port cleaning resolves many apparent measurement faults before mechanical repair is needed.
