This unit

The Ando AQ2200-331 is a single-slot optical module that combines a variable attenuator and integrated power meter in one unit. It delivers precise attenuation control and real-time output power monitoring for optical signal characterization within the AQ2200 Multi Application Test System. The module operates across two wavelength bands and supports both single-mode and multi-mode fiber types, making it suitable for telecommunications, fiber network testing, and optical system calibration.

Hot-swappable design enables field installation and removal without system shutdown.

Technical Specifications

  • Attenuation accuracy: ±0.1 dB

  • Insertion loss: 1.0 dB (typical)

  • Wavelength range: 800–1370 nm and 1200–1700 nm

  • Optical fiber compatibility: SMF 10/125 µm, MMF 50/125 µm and 62.5/125 µm

  • Output power monitoring: Direct measurement at output terminals

Ando AQ2200-331 — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Ando AQ2200-331. Calibration covers attenuation accuracy at 5 or more set values across the full range (0 to rated maximum dB), attenuation linearity, wavelength-dependent attenuation at 1310 nm, 1490 nm, and 1550 nm, insertion loss at minimum attenuation (0 dB position), and polarization-dependent loss (PDL) where applicable. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Standard Cal
$450
Pass/fail cert + NIST sticker
Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common Ando AQ2200-331 faults: motor and gear mechanism wear (attenuation steps or loss of smooth control), optical port contamination, EEPROM calibration data corruption. Most common faults are motor or gear mechanism wear on variable attenuators causing attenuation steps or loss of smooth control, optical port contamination reducing dynamic range, and EEPROM calibration data corruption on digitally controlled models.
