This unit
The Keysight DAQ970A is a 3-slot modular data acquisition mainframe combining a 6½-digit DMM with integrated signal conditioning and plug-in measurement modules. It delivers precision data logging and real-time analysis across up to 120 single-ended channels (60 differential) at scan rates to 450 channels/second. The system measures 12 to 14 distinct signal types - temperature via thermocouple, RTD, and thermistor; DC/AC voltage and current; 2- and 4-wire resistance; frequency and period; capacitance; diode characteristics; and direct/bridge strain - with DC voltage accuracy of 0.003% and 6½-digit resolution.
A 4.3" color display provides graphical visualization, while 100k non-volatile storage and up to one million points of scanning memory enable comprehensive data capture. USB, LAN/LXI connectivity, and direct USB flash drive logging support standalone and networked deployments. Autocalibration compensates for thermal and temporal drifts; internal module calibration minimizes thermocouple reference errors.
The mainframe accepts specialized switching, multiplexing, and digitization modules - including the DAQM900A 20-channel solid-state multiplexer (450 channels/sec, 120 Vrms), DAQM901A 2/4-wire multiplexer (300 V), DAQM903A relay actuator module with 20 SPDT relays (300 V), and DAQM909A 4-channel 24-bit digitizer (800 kSa/s sampling). Programming via SCPI ensures compatibility with legacy 34970A and 34972A systems. Extended resistance measurements reach 1000 MΩ; current ranges span 1 µA DC to 100 µA AC.
The DAQ970A suits environmental monitoring, thermal analysis, structural testing, manufacturing QA, and multi-channel research requiring flexible signal acquisition without external conditioning.
