This unit

The Agilent/Keysight E1442A is a VXI-based switch module delivering 64 channels of signal routing and control for automated test systems. This C-size, single-slot register-based module features non-latching Form C (SPDT) relays by default, with Form A (SPST) configuration available via Option 020. Each relay incorporates three independent axial component locations for jumpers, fuses, or protection networks, with all terminals connectable to internal buses for flexible wiring topologies.

Technical Specifications

  • Channel Count: 64 channels

  • Relay Type: Non-latching armature relays

  • Configuration: Form C (SPDT) standard; Form A (SPST) with Option 020

  • Module Class: VXIbus C-size, 1-slot, register-based

  • Maximum Voltage: 150 V DC / 150 V AC rms / 210 V AC peak (C to NC, NO, or any terminal-to-chassis)

  • Maximum Current: 1 A DC / 1 A AC rms (non-inductive, per switch)

  • Power Rating: 40 W DC or 40 VA AC per switch; 320 W DC or 320 VA AC per module

  • Component Locations: Three independent locations per relay for jumpers, fuses, or resistors

Key Features

  • High-density 64-channel architecture in single VXI slot

  • Three internal buses for simplified signal routing and reduced external wiring

  • Multiple terminal block options: standard solder lugs (base), screw terminals (Option 020), or enhanced Form C with 96-pin DIN-C connectors (Option 010)

  • Option 010 supports direct solder-wire connections (0.055 in. holes, max 20 AWG wire gauge)

  • Downloadable firmware (revision A.06) with register-based command interface

Typical Applications

  • Automated device actuation and switching

  • High-density signal routing in test systems

  • Digital output module functionality

  • Multi-point data acquisition switching

Compatibility & Integration

  • Supported driver frameworks: I-SCPI (Win 3.1, Series 700), C-SCPI (LynxOS, Series 700), VXIplug&play (Win Framework, Win 95/NT Framework)

  • HP-UX Framework not supported

  • QUIC interface standard across all configurations
