This unit
The Agilent E4433B ESG Signal Generator is a precision RF signal source covering 250 kHz to 4.0 GHz, engineered for wireless communications testing, component characterization, and receiver validation. This instrument delivers extensive modulation flexibility - analog (AM, FM, phase modulation), digital (FSK, MSK, PSK, QAM, and custom I/Q), and pulse modulation - with RF modulation bandwidth to 35 MHz. Output spans -136 dBm to +13 dBm across its operating range, with frequency resolution down to 0.01 Hz and 14-bit I/Q resolution at 40 MHz sample rate.
An internal function generator supplies sine, square, ramp, triangle, pulse, and noise waveforms for analog modulation sources. Onboard waveform memory accommodates 1 Msample (4 MB) playback and storage for arbitrary signal construction.

Agilent E4433B — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Agilent E4433B. Calibration covers output frequency accuracy, output power level accuracy across the full frequency range, AM/FM/PM/pulse modulation accuracy, harmonic and spurious output levels, and phase noise floor verification. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Agilent E4433B faults: YIG oscillator failure (no output or loss of lock), step attenuator wear (output drops or steps at set attenuation), ALC loop failure (uncontrolled output power), I/Q modulator assembly failure. HP/Agilent 836xx series most common faults are YIG oscillator failure and step attenuator contact wear causing output steps or drops at specific attenuation settings. Keysight E4428C/E4438C units most commonly develop ALC loop failure and I/Q modulator assembly faults. YIG oscillator replacement and attenuator service are stocked repairs.
