The EXFO EPX500 is a high-speed optical receiver module for OC-48/STM-16 link testing at 2.488 Gbps within SONET/SDH networks. It delivers performance validation, monitoring, and compliance verification across high-speed optical infrastructures. The module installs into any gnubi chassis - including EPX16 and EPX8 platforms - and occupies a single slot. Protocol switching between SONET and SDH occurs without system power down, with selectable payload mappings for each standard.
