This unit
The Keysight 34461A is a 6½ digit digital multimeter engineered for precise measurements across DC/AC voltage, current, resistance, frequency, and specialized functions. Built on Truevolt technology, this instrument eliminates real-world measurement errors - noise, input bias current, and injected current - delivering 35 ppm basic DCV accuracy (0.0035%) and true RMS AC measurements with crest factor support up to 10. Measurement capabilities span DCV to 1000 V, ACV to 750 V, DC/AC current from 100 µA to 10 A, 2- and 4-wire resistance from 100 Ω to 100 MΩ, frequency and period from 3 Hz to 300 kHz, capacitance, diode testing, continuity, and temperature via RTD/PT100 and thermistor sensors.
The 4.3-inch color graphical display supports number, histogram, bar chart, and trend chart modes, enabling real-time data visualization. Internal memory stores 10,000 readings with data logging for trend analysis and digitizing mode for transient capture.

Agilent / Keysight 34461A — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Agilent / Keysight 34461A. Calibration covers DC voltage accuracy at all ranges, AC voltage (True RMS) accuracy at 50 Hz, 1 kHz, and 10 kHz, DC current accuracy, resistance accuracy at all decade ranges, frequency accuracy, and diode test voltage. Fluke 87V and 289 also include capacitance and temperature calibration.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Agilent / Keysight 34461A faults: blown input fuse, worn input jacks, display segment failure, relay contact wear on bench DMMs. Common faults include worn input jacks (banana socket contact wear on the mA and COM terminals), blown input fuses (especially the 440 mA HRC fuse), and display segment failures. Keithley 2000/2001/2002 bench DMMs commonly develop relay contact wear affecting resistance accuracy after extended service.
