This unit
The Keysight/Agilent N8262A P-Series Modular Power Meter works with automated LAN-based measurements of peak, peak-to-average ratio, and average power. This instrument offers a slim, compact 1U half-rack build for straightforward deployment and LXI-C compliance for seamless integration into Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems. It has real-time remote operations via an online web browser and features a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that emulates the display of the N1911/12 P-Series power meters, delivering equivalent performance to the benchtop N1911/12A models. The N8262A offers a video bandwidth of 30 MHz and is code-compatible with P-Series and EPM-P power meters. It supports a wide range of Keysight power sensors, including all P-Series wideband power sensors, E-Series power sensors (excluding the E9320 range), and 8480 Series power sensors. For certain sensor compatibility, such as the E-Series and 8480 Series, specific cables like the N1917A/B/C/D may be required. The instrument's LAN interface contributes to a lower cost of ownership compared to PXI or VXI-based interfaces. It is also supported by the Keysight BenchVue software's BV0007B Power Meter/Sensor Control and Analysis app, which simplifies instrument connection and control. Agilent / Keysight N8262A — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Agilent / Keysight N8262A. Calibration covers output frequency accuracy, output power level accuracy across the full frequency range, AM/FM/PM/pulse modulation accuracy, harmonic and spurious output levels, and phase noise floor verification. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common Agilent / Keysight N8262A faults: YIG oscillator failure (no output or loss of lock), step attenuator wear (output drops or steps at set attenuation), ALC loop failure (uncontrolled output power), I/Q modulator assembly failure. HP/Agilent 836xx series most common faults are YIG oscillator failure and step attenuator contact wear causing output steps or drops at specific attenuation settings. Keysight E4428C/E4438C units most commonly develop ALC loop failure and I/Q modulator assembly faults. YIG oscillator replacement and attenuator service are stocked repairs.
