This unit
The HP/Agilent 3312A is a dual-channel function generator combining two independent signal sources with integrated modulation capability in a single compact chassis. The main generator produces sine, square, triangle, ramp, and variable-symmetry pulse waveforms from 0.1 Hz to 13 MHz across eight decade ranges, delivering up to 20 V p-p into open circuit or >10 V p-p into 50 Ω loads. A secondary modulation generator operating from 0.01 Hz to 10 kHz enables complex signal conditioning through amplitude modulation (0–100% depth), frequency modulation (±5% deviation), and linear sweep (>100:1 width). The instrument supports internal and external trigger, gate, and burst modes, with the main generator capable of being triggered by the modulation generator.

HP / Agilent 3312A — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the HP / Agilent 3312A. Calibration covers output frequency accuracy, output amplitude accuracy at 50 ohm and Hi-Z load, DC offset accuracy, symmetry and duty cycle accuracy, and arbitrary waveform sample rate accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common HP / Agilent 3312A faults: BNC output connector wear, output amplifier failure from short-circuit drive, display and keypad membrane switch wear, DDS or DAC failure on 33250A. HP 33120A and Agilent 33220A most common fault is BNC output connector wear from repeated cable insertions. Output amplifier failure on the HP 33120A typically results from sustained short-circuit drive. Agilent 33250A DDS and high-speed DAC failures are rare but require component-level repair and post-repair amplitude verification across the full 80 MHz range.
