This unit

The HP/Agilent 3465A is a 4 1/2 digit digital multimeter designed for general-purpose bench and field measurements. It has five core measurement functions

DC voltage, AC voltage, DC current, AC current, and resistance - with a 4 1/2 digit LED display and 2.5 readings per second sample rate. The instrument delivers midrange DC accuracy of ±0.02% ± 1 digit and resolves down to 1 µV on the 20 mV DC voltage range.

Technical Specifications Voltage Measurement

DC Voltage: 10 mV, 100 mV, 1 V, 10 V, 100 V, 1000 V ranges with 100% overrange on all except 1000 V

AC Voltage: 100 mV, 1 V, 100 V, 1000 V ranges; maximum 500 VAC rms (800 V peak); accuracy ±(0.15% + 0.05% of reading); 100% overrange to 10 kHz, linear decrease to 0% at 20 kHz

Frequency Response: 40 Hz to 20 kHz Current Measurement

DC/AC Current: 200 µA to 2000 mA ranges Resistance Measurement

Ranges: 200 Ω, 2 kΩ, 20 kΩ, 200 kΩ, 2000 kΩ, 20 MΩ

Open-circuit voltage maximum 5 V on most sensitive range

HP / Agilent 3465A — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the HP / Agilent 3465A. Calibration covers calibration scope varies by instrument type: vacuum gauges are verified at multiple pressure points against NIST-traceable pressure standards; spectrophotometers at wavelength accuracy and photometric accuracy points; strain gauge indicators at bridge excitation accuracy and full-scale output accuracy; pH meters against certified buffer solutions at pH 4, 7, and 10.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Standard Cal
$450
Pass/fail cert + NIST sticker
Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common HP / Agilent 3465A faults: vacuum gauge filament failure (ionization gauges), spectrophotometer D2 lamp end-of-life, wavelength motor failure, strain indicator front-panel binding post corrosion, pH electrode conditioning failure. Most specialty laboratory instruments fail at their electromechanical interfaces first — vacuum gauge connectors and filament assemblies, spectrophotometer lamp housings and motor drives, strain indicator binding post corrosion. Component-level repair is standard; manufacturer support for legacy instruments is often limited, making third-party bench repair the practical path.
