This unit

The Fluke 8808A/SU is a 5.5-digit digital multimeter engineered for precision benchtop, field service, and system-level measurements. It delivers 0.015% basic DC voltage accuracy across a comprehensive measurement set: DC/AC voltage, DC/AC current, 2-wire and 4-wire resistance, frequency, continuity, diode test, and DC leakage current. The dual vacuum fluorescent display simultaneously shows two parameters, accelerating fault isolation and verification workflows. A patented 2×4 wire resistance technique enables true 4-wire measurements using only two leads. Specialized low-impedance circuitry - utilizing an operational amplifier and current-to-voltage conversion - eliminates burden voltage for accurate DC leakage current detection down to 100 nA resolution. Selectable measurement rates of 2.5, 20, and 100 samples/second optimize speed versus stability trade-offs. True RMS AC measurement ensures accuracy on distorted waveforms. Dedicated buttons provide quick access to common setups, while limit compare mode automates pass/fail testing. The /SU variant includes FlukeView Basic software and a USB-to-RS-232 interface adapter for remote data logging and analysis over RS-232.

Fluke 8808A/SU — Repair & Calibration Service

Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the Fluke 8808A/SU. Calibration covers DC voltage accuracy at all ranges, AC voltage (True RMS) accuracy at 50 Hz, 1 kHz, and 10 kHz, DC current accuracy, resistance accuracy at all decade ranges, frequency accuracy, and diode test voltage. Fluke 87V and 289 also include capacitance and temperature calibration.. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.

Cal with Data
$650
Full NIST cert with measured values

Common Fluke 8808A/SU faults: blown input fuse, worn input jacks, display segment failure, relay contact wear on bench DMMs. Common faults include worn input jacks (banana socket contact wear on the mA and COM terminals), blown input fuses (especially the 440 mA HRC fuse), and display segment failures. Keithley 2000/2001/2002 bench DMMs commonly develop relay contact wear affecting resistance accuracy after extended service.
