This unit

The Agilent/Keysight E1361A is a B-size, 1-slot VXI register-based relay matrix module that delivers high-density signal routing and switching for automated test systems. The module features a configurable 4×4 2-wire matrix with latching relays that retain their programmed state through power cycles. Relays reset to open on power-on.

The E1361A supports reconfiguration as a dual 2×4 2-wire matrix or 8:1 2-wire multiplexer, making it adaptable to diverse switching architectures. Each crosspoint switches both Hi and Lo lines independently.

Technical Specifications

Key Features

  • Latching relay design eliminates holding current

  • Programmed relay state preserved across power loss

  • All-relays-open initialization on power-on reset

  • 2-wire crosspoint architecture with independent Hi/Lo switching

  • Field-reconfigurable matrix topology via jumper removal

  • Scalable architecture supports matrix expansion

Typical Applications Automated test equipment, prototyping platforms, custom circuit development, multi-channel signal routing, production test systems requiring dynamic path reconfiguration.

Compatibility & Integration The E1361A integrates into VXIbus systems as a register-based module. C-size system compatibility requires the E1403C adapter. Multiple modules can be connected for expanded matrix configurations. Documentation includes user and service manuals; instrument drivers are available from Keysight Technologies.
